PROJECT SUMMARY

Three petal-shaped tensioned structures were installed to provide artistic shade at the new outdoor ice-skating facility at the Chinguacousy Park in Brampton, Ontario Canada.  In the winter, the irregular shaped canal is a skating track featuring bends configured for skaters with different abilities.  The canal becomes a large, shallow reflective pool that can also be drained to support summer activities, events, performance and other gatherings.  To meet the seasonal requirements, the tensile structures are engineered for 90 MPH wind-loads, and 27 PSF snow-loads.  Flame-retardant and waterproof, Sheerfill V PTFE Architectural Membrane fabric cover three 26′ Long x 16′ Wide arched and elongated frames.  Seven 20′ High powder coat painted columns support the tensioned canopy tops with varying orientations and at different connecting heights.
