PROJECT SUMMARY
This series of five custom Tension Structures serve as the Valet, Waiting Area and Kiosks for the restaurants at The Pike at Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, California. One of the canopies was designed to be removable to accommodate the temporary grandstands for the annual Long Beach Grand Prix that takes in the same parking lot. Teflon coated fiberglass membranes were used for the covers to provide high translucency and brilliant night lighting. The framework was designed to house electrical for a variety of accessories including televisions, lights, and heaters.
