PROJECT SUMMARY
This Washington D.C. Rooftop Canopy Tension Structure is located on the 10th floor rooftop of a commercial building in our nation’s capitol, Washington, D.C. Eide Industries, Inc. was selected to design, engineer, fabricate and install the fabric structure on an accelerated schedule. With a concerted streamlined effort, Eide was able to meet the client’s expectations and installation deadline.
The new building has been certified at the Silver level with the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED building rating system. This particular Tension Structure offers two specific environmentally friendly qualities. First of all, the PVC fabric membrane is 100% recyclable. In addition, with a solar reflection factor of 78%, the membrane helps to reduce the city’s “heat island”. Consequently, this cuts back on the duration of air conditioning usage in those hot summer months.
